Presenting yourself at an industry event

You have been asked to attend an industry networking event where you will meet key stakeholders and participate in a roundtable discussion.

To feel more confident introducing yourself to others, write a short paragraph with relevant information about your background and current role.  Tip: Think about the Profile section of your CV and include the most important details about your background, skills and experience.

To build on this, you can then write a longer paragraph that could be used to introduce you at the roundtable discussion. For example, how would you like the Event Organiser to introduce you to the other participants? What would they say about your background, experience, goals and interests?

By completing this activity, it can help you think more clearly about how you want to build your profile in your industry. What skills and expertise do you have that you want to be known for? What do you want to contribute? How do you want others to see you?
